The Ranger's Sorrow: The King's Ranger Book 4 is out NOW!

The headline says it all. The Ranger’s Sorrow: The King’s Ranger Book 4 is out NOW!

Find your copy HERE.

And before you ask, the audio is coming soon. The legendary Simon Vance has the file, and we’re expecting a late August release.

A ranger’s duty. The rotten heart of a king. Rebellion spilled from the blood of family.

In Book 4 of the King’s Ranger series, Rew and his companions find themselves transported across the kingdom and flung into the teeth of waiting danger. There’s no time to rest as they go from one deadly circumstance to another. It’s a trap, but are they the trap’s bait or its jaws?

As the companions continue their quest against the king and the princes of Vaeldon, they discover they’re the masters of horrific power. Their strength rivals that of the greatest swordsmen and spellcasters in the kingdom’s history, but when they use that strength, the cost is weighed in lives.

The price of victory is high, and Rew and his friends carry the burden of that sorrow. Are the spoils of victory worth the tragic loss it takes to achieve them? Can Rew and his companions justify their crusade against the Mordens when the line separating them grows ever thin?

Schedule Update and TKR in Amazon Prime Reading

Just a quick schedule update today, but first, The King’s Ranger Book 1 is part of Amazon’s Prime Reading promotion for the next three months (US only, sorry, I don’t get to choose). That means it’s free to anyone in the US who has Amazon Prime. I’m guessing if you frequent this site, you’ve already read it, but it’s a great opportunity to tell a friend!

Believe me, when it’s free, it’s worth every penny!

Wait…

Moving on, The Ranger’s Sorrow: The King’s Ranger Book 4 is on track for a July 29th release. I’m trying a different marketing strategy, so I’m going to wait a few weeks to put up the pre-order, but keep an eye out around July 11-12th for those who like to be first in line!

I’ve started the first draft of TBD: The King’s Ranger Book 5, it’s already about 25k words, and I have a December release planned. And because everyone keeps asking; there will be six books in the series, and the final one should drop April ‘22. The number of books is written in stone, the release dates are written in pencil, but I fully expect them to hold up.

And for those of you who made it to the end of this post, a treat:

Beniamin Ashwood Tom 1 is out IN POLAND!

I’m not sure how much traffic I get from Poland on the blog, but just in case…

My Benjamin Ashwood series is finally hitting the shelves in Poland! It’s been a weird process, as I’m used to self-publishing and managing every aspect of a release, but it’s nice to sit back and watch this one from afar (very afar). It’s also weird having a publisher, because this all seems so official. This book is on store shelves—in Poland! So strange.

I’m not sure the best location to purchase my books in Poland, so for those looking to find out more, hopefully something on the publisher’s website directs you to the right place ;)

And, uh, holy crap! I have a Polish audiobook?? I did not know that… Maybe I should have checked that site sooner?

So, part of why having books in Poland is so wild for me is that shortly before Dark Territory: Benjamin Ashwood Book 3 came out, I was IN POLAND WORKING ON IT! I was there for my day job, and was still wrestling with becoming a full-time author. Believe me when I say that 4-Year-Ago-AC had no idea where this journey would lead me… I can’t imagine going back to that day job, but I’d go back to Poland in an instant! Beautiful country, plentiful beer, great people.

Here’s an action shot of “working on the book”. Does that beer(s) explain why the early Benjamin Ashwood books had so many typos? It’s a possibility. If you’re curious, that’s the beautiful Wawel Royal Castle to the left and the Vistula River on the right. I added another pic of Wawel’s interior because travel was such a big inspiration for the BA series, and you can see why!
